Running All Weekend Long....

We started the weekend with the annual USAA Family 5K. Ryan was a good sport and ran with me most of the way, but then we got seperated and he finished just before me.We saw Becky and McKenna while we were there...I can't believe we found them, there were 5,700 registered runners, the place was PACKED!

After the race Ryan took my mom (and me) to lunch at The Lodge. He has tried to get me to go with him for over a year and we just never made it over there. It was a GREAT lunch, super yummy food :) Here is Ryan eating his dessert, it has more calories in it than what the average person should consume in a whole day! My mom made a funny joke, then started crying (because of laughter!)
I was just being silly-(and scary)!
Here we are outside the cool old mansion:

Halloween Haunts!

On Halloween we went down to the Riverwalk and took a boat tour. Every time my mom comes into town we have tried to take a tour, but we always miss it. This year we finally did it. It was fun because our guide was all dressed up and he told us all sorts of fun information.

Ryan took his exam on Thursday...exam #9, the last exam in the series. If he passed we are done with exams FOREVER! We don't find out the results until about Christmas, but it is so nice that he doesn't have to study at all throught the Holiday's (and maybe he won't have to study like this again).

On Friday we got dressed up at work, my costume was kinda fairy like, next year I will be on top of it and get it all put together.
I had fun with my makeup and got a pic of Jennifer and me at the work luncheon:
Kiah and Soph went to the annual Halloween party at Daycare. I didn't my costume done because we were working on Kiah's. Sophie actually outgrew her costume I got her (every ounce really counts on a little body!) so she wore her skeleton from last year. They both got little Halloween Hanky's:
And Kiah really wanted her treat:
They got these cute treats:

And Sophie was trying to eat the treats while in the bag still:

Here is a quick shot of Kiah's costume, can you guess what she was?
We stopped at the Rocky Mountain Chocolate factory when we were downtown and they challanged me to eat a chocolate covered jalepeno with no water and they would give me a free chocolate covered pretzels-my favorite. See how wide my eyes were? I was taking my second bite-and it was HOT! Really hot, and I did it, but after they did give me water-thank goodness, and a strawberry to neutralize the burning. It was all for entertainment and we were all entertained-and my tummy was a little mad, but I got free stuff-the stupid things I will do for FREE stuff.

Fall Fun!

October flew by, it was a very busy month! One of my good friends, Abby, is having a baby next month and so I was able to head over to her baby shower. She looks great and was glowing. I'm so glad that she is happy and I can't wait to see her little one.YAY! My mom is working in El Paso and so she travels here on the weekends to hang out with me. We headed up to the Love Creek Orchards with the Wheelus fam. The timing was great because Ryan still had to study and I have to keep my mom way from him, so she wouldn't distract him. Here we are with Sydnee:

When it Rains, it Floods!

A couple of weeks ago we had some serious rain. It took more than twice as long for me to get through one neighborhood, but after getting through there it wasn't too bad. I had my camera in my car so I took some pictures while I was stopped (the traffic through here was horrendous!)

You could barely see the curb, the rain was flooding up over the sidwalk. Even though the drive wasn't great, we really needed the rain.

Ever Changing

As many of you know, I no longer work at the Birth Center. After being there for over a year I got offered a chance to go back to where I worked before. We prayed about it, and decided that it would be the best choice for us. It was a super hard decision, and I totally support the ladies over there and believe that what they do is truly amazing. I was so blessed to be there and share in such an important time in people's lives.

This is my favorite time of year, the MAJOR problem is Ryan is studying constantly, but in a week from Thursday he won't have to study for a while and we can enjoy the holidays! My mom is here in Tejas and will be for the next 4 weeks, but she isn't anywhere close to me, but she has promised to come and visit me every weekend. Oh-I forgot to mention, she is in El Paso-yeah, one of the most horribly long BORING drives there is. But she is committed, so we will see this weekend :)

I got the girls the most ADORABLE Halloween costumes (if you think that is crazy-keep your negativity to yourself-I'm not interested in hearing it). We put them on last night, and it was GREATNESS. Kiah was running around like a crazy fool. I will take pics this weekend when my mom is here to help we control them :)

Thats enough rambling. We had some CRAZY rain today it looked like 8 o'clock at night at about 4pm! Good thing today was my cross training day, because running on the treadmill is getting more and more boring as my miles increase!

Run, Just Because, and Homecoming

RUN:Rock 'n Roll Half Marathon, here I come...seven weeks from today it will be over and I can become sedentary once again (which never lasts long).
JUST BECAUSE:When sorting through some photo boxes I came across these-not sure if I posted them last year, but they made me laugh so I thought I would post them. These are of our trip to Washington in May 2008. We went to a music festival and crammed 5 people into a photo booth: Ryan, me, Kammi, Josh, & Rachelle.

HOMECOMING:My baby brother went to his first dance a couple weeks ago. I am so sad that I wasn't able to be there when he got all ready :( He looks so grown up and handsome. I can't believe he is a Jr. in High School, I remember when he was just a little boy who would quote Disney movies all the time!

A Quick Interruption...

I know I'm slacking in the Spain pics, but I really am working on them. I thought I would give a quick update of the things that have been going on since my last post...

We were able to go to Indiana to visit Ryan's brother and his family. We had a fun time going to the children's zoo, doing crafts, eating tons of food, watching Psych, and just hanging out. Thanks Cam and Shannon for having us over-it was so fun!

Hallie at the Zoo brushing and feeding the goats:
Cameron and Hallie Sydnee in her stroller, "hiding" from me
Ryan's Dad met us in Indiana tooWe took a little log ride, Hallie rode with Ryan and me, she was so precious!Sydnee and I were buds the whole trip-I'm pretty good at bribing the little ones to love me :)Us before church
These little girlies were so fun, and exhausting! :) Sydnee LOVED all my necklaces!

These are out of order, but oh well. I promised my Grams that I would work on my food storage this year. So, for our visiting teaching in August all of us met at the Cannery, then out for ice cream, it was a lot of fun, we have a great VT route!

We went to a little get together and played Rock Band, it was Hi-Larious! There was a Boy's Band:
And a Girl's Band:
Here is a super cute pic of the girls (and Oliver)!

We did have some friends leave before this pic was taken :( but we will get them next time!
